Founder, President, Treasurer
Alissa Weiss
Alissa Weiss is a long-time resident of Northeastern Pennsylvania. She is a mother, business banker, and animal advocate. She received her BBA in Finance from Marywood University and her MBA from Louisiana State University, Shreveport. She also serves on the Board of Directors for several other nonprofit organizations in the area.
Alissa is a mom to four cats and is a strong advocate for the well-being of all animals. She founded PAWS of NEPA to help families provide their pets with the care they deserve.
Vice President
Jessica Scharle
Jessica Scharle is a veteran, animal lover, and mother of four. She served in the United States Army for 6 years, where she was a light wheel mechanic. She deployed to Iraq, and she came to believe that animals can play a vital role in helping people heal. After leaving the military, she started her family and worked in multiple industries. She is now a medical abstraction consultant.
Jessica is a passionate advocate for animals and veterans. She believes that animals can make a real difference in people's lives, and she is dedicated to helping both animals and veterans find the love and support they need.
Secretary
Anna Van Acker
Anna Van Acker is an Assistant Vice President Commercial Loan Officer with Wayne Bank. As an alumna of the University of Scranton, Anna discovered her passion for community service early in life. She currently sits on the board of the Wayne Pike Building Industry Association, the Pennsylvania Builders Association, the Professional Women in Building Council, and the Human Resources Center. She volunteers with the Honesdale Area Jaycees and maintains a membership with several industry organizations throughout the area. Outside of volunteering, Anna enjoys spending time with her fluffy and lovable Great Bernese, Faust.

Cliff Wade
Cliff Wade is a loving husband, devoted father, and proud cat dad. He grew up in Northeast Pennsylvania and is dedicated to having a positive impact in his community. His passion for helping animals is what led him to join the Board of PAWS of NEPA, where he looks to help the organization grow and succeed.
In his spare time, Cliff enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, camping, and kayaking.
Director
Lisa Metzger
Lisa Metzger is a Special Agent for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Lisa earned her BS in Criminal Justice from West Chester University and her MS in Forensic Psychology from Walden University. She is a wife, mother of four humans and two fur babies. Upon graduation from West Chester University, Lisa rescued her first dog on her own and has rescued two others since. She enjoys spending time with her family and two labs, Charlie and Penny.
